Service and Assistance Dogs

I train service and assistance dogs for owners for many reasons,  such as medical alert,  which is warning of an impending health issue,  like a diabetic low,  for physical help like support to prevent falls and help to get up after a fall,  and for warning of panic attacks building,  as ptsd victims often experience.  There are many tasks dogs can perform for humans to assist in daily living.   Not every dog is suited and each dog is assessed individually.

The type of dog doesn’t matter,  but they must be physically able to do what is asked,    and they must pass a PAT test,  which is Public Access Test.  There are 3 important elements in the PAT test.

  1.  Dogs must not show aggression for any reason.
  2.  Dogs must be fully toilet trained.
  3. Dogs must not show attention to any foods when in a working situation.
